Palletier scheduled the dock doors at warehouses that had always done it with a whiteboard and a loud voice. A trailer arrives, a door is free or it is not, and a driver waits. Multiply that by thirty doors and three shifts and the waiting becomes a cost line nobody owns.
Gus Halloran ran a distribution center for nine years. Ines Marchetti wrote scheduling software for a freight broker. Together they built a tool where a dispatcher could see every door, every appointment and every late truck on one screen, and where a driver got a text instead of a phone call.
The sales cycle was long, as warehouse sales are, and Palletier charged for its pilots from the first one. By its acquisition in 2023 it was running dock schedules at 46 sites. Detention fees at those sites dropped by roughly a fifth.
Why we invested
The founders had already paid their own way through two pilots before they called us. They knew the buyer by first name and the whiteboard by heart. We liked that the product made a boring cost visible.
